For our Muir of Ord site we are currently seeking an experienced

Finance Assistant (part-time) (m/f/d) - Maternity Cover Required

Your chance:
  • Open & distribute daily post for the Finance Department
  • Preparation and submission of monthly VAT return for UK (x2) and German Legal Entities
  • Preparation and submission of monthly VAT Intrastat returns for UK and Germal Legal Entities
  • Preparation and submission of monthly EC Sales Lists for UK and German Legal Entities
  • Processing of deferment duty and Import VAT on imported goods
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of Import VAT and deferred duty account with HMRC
  • Processing payroll arrestments, Union dues, etc
  • Collate, sort and scan incoming vendor invoices to EIM on a daily basis
  • Review and posting to SAP of employee expense and mileage claims (for 2 UK Legal Entities)
  • Respond to telephone/email queries (eg.from employees relating to expenses or payroll)
  • Preparation and entry of manual recharge sales invoices to other SGL plants or for ad-hoc items
  • Ensure compliance with local and EU VAT regulations
  • Preparation and submission of National Statistics returns
  • Preparation and posting of journals for payroll and other recurring items as required (for 2 UK Entities)
  • Prepare monthly accruals summary of “running” items to facilitate a timely and accurate close
  • Ensure filing and archiving are undertaken on accurate & timely basis to meet UK record keeping legislation
  • Ensure full compliance with SGL authorisation matrix and all financial controls
  • Participate in annual review and update of ICS processes as relevant to Finance area
  • Provide cover for short term absences of Management Accountant
  • Process any cheques received from customers
  • Reconcile petty cash and raise cheques for replenishing cash as necessary
Your profile:
  • 3+ years of experience as an accountant assistant and/or accounts payable clerk
  • Minimum educational level Standard Grade English and Maths or equivalent. ACCA Accounting
  • Technician qualification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience of SAP preferred
  • Integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
