SGL Group – The Carbon Company and Lechwerke AG (LEW) are advancing the cause of e-mobility: On Wednesday, Norbert Schürmann, member of the LEW Management Board, and Markus Partik, manager of the SGL site in Meitingen, commissioned two new charging stations for electric cars, in the presence of Michael Higl, mayor of the market town of Meitingen. With the two charging stations at the SGL Group premises on Werner-von-Siemens-Straße, Meitingen now has a total of four public LEW charging stations, all of which have two charging points with an output of up to 22 kilowatts. This allows electric cars to be charged up to six times faster than with a conventional domestic power socket.
"E-mobility combined with electricity from renewable energy sources is the logical continuation of the energy transition on the roads," says LEW Management Board member Norbert Schürmann. "Developing the charging infrastructure is important in advancing the cause of e-mobility in the region."
"As an innovative high-tech company, SGL Group with its carbon and graphite products is responding to various global megatrends, among them e-mobility. We are pleased that our collaboration with LEW allows us to promote specifically the development of e-mobility locally in Meitingen, too," adds Markus Partik, manager of the SGL Group site in Meitingen.
