SGL Carbon received a major order from Tianjin Bohua Chemical Development Co., Ltd. for equipment and components needed to produce 800,000 metric tons per year vinyl chloride monomer (VCM). Tianjin Bohua is a state-owned Chinese company and one of the largest chemical production companies in China.
The order volume includes a large number of graphite block heat exchangers, PTFE lined pipe elements as well as expansion bellows. The delivery is scheduled until the end of 2019. Tianjin Bohua chose SGL Carbon for its convincing performance in other projects based on both SGL Carbon’s expertise and the reliable availability of large quantities of graphite material. The demanding application of VCM production requires the superior material properties of SGL’s DIABON® graphite and POLYFLURON® PTFE lining. An advanced equipment engineering completes the scope.
