Packing rings with low leakage
SIGRAFLEX LL foil can be used to produce die-formed packing rings with reduced emissions - ideal for sealing stuffing boxes in valves and fittings.
A SIGRAFLEX graphite foil selected from our portfolio is used as the base material for SIGRAFLEX LL. The material is subjected to our newly developed LL treatment. This special foil finishing generates a significant improvement in the leakage behavior of the packing ring, whereas the physical properties of SIGRAFLEX LL foil are largely identical to those of the base foil.
Outstanding: Reduction of fugitive emissions due to high leak tightness. The LL type of a SIGRAFLEX foil offers a leakage reduction by more than a factor of 100.
PFAS free
SIGRAFLEX LL not only helps to significantly reduce the leakage rate, but due to its PFAS-free nature it also has clear advantages over packing materials containing fluoropolymers. In contrast to these, SIGRAFLEX LL does not release any toxic or corrosion-causing products at elevated temperatures.
SIGRAFLEX LL foil is therefore a safe substitute for many applications where PFAS-containing sealing materials are used today.
Convincing in many applications
Whether in the chemical or petrochemical industries, in refineries, power plants or heating systems, packings made from SIGRAFLEX LL impress with their improved leak tightness, effectively reducing fugitive emissions.
