REFRASIL silica textiles are woven cloth made of continuous filament, amorphous silica fiber with exceptional thermal performance and characteristics of a refractory material. Our high-temperature silica cloths provide continuous thermal protection from 982°C to 1260°C (1800°F to 2300°F). REFRASIL cloths are available in a wide variety of various weights and thickness, as well as being offered with several different types of specialty coatings.
REFRASIL cordages and yarns are continuous filament, amorphous silica products, with the thermal performance of refractory materials. The fiber is highly porous and does not melt or vaporize until temperatures exceed 1593°C (2900°F). Our products provide reliable insulation and protection while retaining their original textile characteristics. They can be braided onto or around thermocouple wires, instrument elements, electrical cables, electrical cable harnesses and hoses.
REFRASIL rope gaskets are a dimensionally controlled, high-density, braided, high-silica (96% SiO₂) products intended for service temperatures up to 982°C (1800°F). Rope gaskets are braided from texturized yarns, pre-shrunk, and treated with a hydrocarbon finish to improve its abrasion resistance and ease of handling. REFRASIL braided sleevings are the solution for an efficient, low maintenance thermal insulation. They do not lose strength, remain flexible to 982°C (1800°F), and are resistant to oxidation and most corrosive solutions.
