As part of its traditional graduation ceremony, SGL Carbon honored the achievements of a total of twelve young professionals who successfully completed their apprenticeships in January/February and June/July 2026.
The graduates were trained in the following apprenticeship programs: industrial mechanic, machining mechanic, plastics technologist, and machine and plant operator. In addition, Svenja Drosson earned her IHK certification as a machine and plant operator through a part-time program over six months under the Qualification and Opportunity Act.
Site Manager Alexander Miehling, Interim Human Resources Manager Gerhard Melinz, the trainers, and representatives of the works council congratulated the graduates on passing their exams. As a representative of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), Training Manager Uwe Moderer recognized the achievements of the graduates.
René Grunwald (industrial mechanic), Andreas Fehrer (machining mechanic), and Svenja Drosson (machine and plant operator) achieved particularly outstanding results. They completed their apprenticeships with the top grade of “very good.”
“Training qualified skilled workers is an important investment for us in the future of our site. We are therefore all the more pleased with the excellent performance of our young professionals and wish them every success in their future careers,” says Alexander Miehling, site manager at SGL Carbon in Meitingen.
