SGL Carbon Annual General Meeting elects new Supervisory Board member

At today's Annual General Meeting, the shareholders of SGL Carbon SE discharged the Board of Management and Supervisory Board for the 2024 fiscal year and approved all resolutions on the agenda with the required majorities. Around 61% of the voting share capital participated in the virtual Annual General Meeting.

An important item on the agenda of the Annual General Meeting was the regular election of two members of the Supervisory Board. The previous Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the Auditing Committee, Georg Denoke, was re-elected by a large majority. Supervisory Board member Edwin Eichler, who has reached the maximum term of office on the Supervisory Board and is therefore leaving the Supervisory Board, will be succeeded by Dr. Sönke Bästlein as a new member of the Supervisory Board.

Supervisory Board Chairman Prof. Dr. Frank Richter expressed his gratitude to Mr. Eichler for his many years of outstanding work on the Supervisory Board of SGL Carbon SE and congratulated Mr. Denoke and Dr. Bästlein on their (re)-election to the board. “With the re-election of Georg Denoke and the appointment of Dr. Sönke Bästlein, the Supervisory Board is once again well positioned to fulfill its duties as a supervisory and advisory body. With their proven expertise and experience, the two colleagues perfectly complement the Supervisory Board's range of competencies,” added Prof. Dr. Richter.
