About SGL Carbon

The future is one of our best customers

Our unique graphite and composite materials and products are in demand in industries that are defining the future. These include the automotive, aerospace, and solar and wind energy industries, as well as manufacturers of semiconductors, LEDs, and lithium-ion batteries. We also develop innovative solutions for various chemical and industrial applications.

Our services go beyond those of a material manufacturer. We see ourselves as a trendsetter and development partner. The needs of our customers are the starting point for our reliable solutions, and our customers benefit from our extensive expertise in materials, engineering, and applications. We offer products along the entire value chain for both composites and specialty graphites and cover all processing stages, from raw materials and intermediates to finished components. This makes high-quality tailor-made solutions possible – from the initial idea to serial production.

Many of our solutions are based on carbon. Pulitzer Prize winner Natalie Angier describes carbon as the “duct tape of life.” But more importantly, as a company we behave like the carbon we know so well. We form many and close bonds, to create versatile and tailor-made applications. How we behave and how we benefit our customers are what defines our brand core: Smart Solutions.
