Two visits, one common goal: integration and exchange. The youth representatives (JAV) of SGL Carbon at the Meitingen site and the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Werk (DRW) have created some special moments over the past few weeks.
First, the JAV at SGL Carbon welcomed ten clients of the DRW and their caregivers to the Meitingen site. The company's youth representative committee had put together a varied program for the guests, including a visit to the plant fire department, a tour of the showroom, and a hands-on session in the vocational training center.
In the vocational training workshop, the guests were able to make their own carbon fiber shoe horns under the guidance of trainees. Accompanying the event, a sales stand with handmade products from the DRW was set up in the SGL canteen, which met with great interest among SGL employees.
This was followed by a return visit to the DRW: The members of the SGL youth council were welcomed in the workshops of the Dominikus-Ringeisen-Werk. The guests were given an insight into the daily work of the clients, who manufacture components and packaging for regional companies, among other things.
A particular highlight was the in-house ceramics workshop, where artistic unique pieces such as cups, bowls, and garden decorations are created. After the tour, the guests were also allowed to try their hand at the craft.
