Once again, SGL Carbon offers more than 30 young people the opportunity to start in their professional lives with an apprenticeship. At the company sites Meitingen, Bonn and Limburg, a total of 33 new trainees started their apprenticeships in various technical and commercial professions at the beginning of September.
These include a variety of disciplines such as industrial clerk, process mechanic, cutting machine operator, industrial mechanic, machine and plant operator, electrician for industrial engineering, mechatronics engineer, and chemical laboratory technician. In addition to these classic apprenticeships, SGL Carbon has also been offering dual degree courses with technical or economical focus in cooperation with the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University for several years now.
"We are glad about the opportunity to train our prospective specialists ourselves. The takeover ratio of almost 100 percent underlines the great added value that this concept has", says Uwe Moderer, Head of apprenticeship at the Meitingen site of SGL Carbon. Ralf Wolf, training master in Bonn, adds: "For us as a technology-based company, the training of young people is of particular importance, because they are the basis for the sustainable future of our company."
In recent years, SGL Carbon has constantly hired over 30 new apprentices per year. The certification as one of Germany's best companies for apprenticeship by the independent research and consulting network Great Place to Work® this year is a proof for the positive feedback of the apprentices to the company.
The application process for the start of the apprenticeships in September 2019 is already running. More information on the offered positions and the application process can be found at www.ausbildung-bei-sglcarbon.de.
