On September 1, 2020, SGL Carbon welcomed 33 new apprentices in Germany. At the Meitingen and Bonn sites, the young people started their careers in various technical and commercial professions as well as in dual study programs. An apprentice started work at the Austrian location in the Innkreis at the beginning of August.
The apprentices are going to be trained for their future careers as specialists in a variety of subjects. These include the professions of industrial mechanic, electronics technician for industrial engineering, machine and plant operator, chemical laboratory technician, process mechanic and office clerk. In addition, SGL Carbon has been offering dual courses of study with a business or technical focus for several years. This year four students are starting here in the fields of chemical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics and environmental engineering.
