Once again this year, SGL Carbon opened its doors to interested children and young people. On the occasion of the German Girls' and Boys' Day, which took place on April 25, 2024, a total of 19 children came to our two sites in Bonn and Meitingen to get to know the company and its products better.
At our site in Meitingen, seven girls aged between 13 and 15 were able to experience first-hand what future cutting machine operators, industrial mechanics and plastics technologists learn in an industrial company. With the support of the trainees, they had the opportunity to produce a cell phone holder and a CFRP shoehorn.
At our site in Bonn, the twelve children were welcomed by our colleagues in several key areas in Bonn, our laboratory, the IT department, the MES department, the A&T department and the OMS team. Here they were able to gain practical insights into the job profiles.
