The SGL Group – The Carbon Company – has been honored as one of the TOP 100 most innovative German companies. It is the fifth time that the company has received this award, which was handed over during the German SME Summit in Essen last Friday by Ranga Yogeshwar, the Top 100 mentor and science journalist.

With our innovations we support the developments in the field of the megatrends mobility, energy supply and digitization. It is our clear objective to accelerate time to market of our product innovations and new applications.”
Especially the material and process expertise built up over many years linked to the strategic bundling of research and development in one central organization as well as the number of patents submitted convinced the jury this year.
Since 1993 compamedia has been awarding the TOP 100 signet for exceptional innovation capacity and outstanding innovative success to medium-sized companies. In 2002, the scientific lead has been taken over by Prof. Nikolaus Franke from the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
