The employees of the SGL Group – The Carbon Company – have collected donations for the after-care programs of Der Bunte Kreis e.V. with a bake sale at an in-house Family Day at the site in Meitingen. The association provides support for sick children and their families in the Swabian region of Bavaria. Employees baked and sold a total of 90 cakes. The revenue raised was rounded up by the company and last Monday site manager Dr. Markus Partik handed over a check in the amount of 2,500 euro to Cornelia Spilger, a representative of the social organization in Augsburg.
About 5,000 participants gathered for the Family Day on the SGL Group premises on 25 June under the theme "Our plant - see it and experience it". In addition to insights into production processes and a look at SGL Group products, employees and their families were treated to a colorful event program. A highlight was the visit of two players from the FC Augsburg soccer club, Tobias Werner and Halil Altintop.
