All from one single source
From FEM calculation and CAD design to hydraulic design
SGL Carbon offers the entire design of SIGRABOND Chemical parts from a single source, starting with static calculations, hydraulic design up to structural design.
We accompany our customers from planning to implementation. The hydraulic measurement of liquid distributors takes place at our own distribution test stand. Here we check and approve the design. If required, our partner SULZER Chemtech provides a performance guarantee.
Our portfolio
We developed a full range of innovative carbon fiber-reinforced column internals with the clear aim to provide innovative and economic solutions for our customers and their demanding applications.

Liquid distributors
In addition to corrosion resistance liquid distributors made of SIGRABOND Chemical are at the same time lighter, stronger, stiffer, more rigid and more temperature resistant than plastics and have lower cost than special metals. Various design options can easily be installed even at diameter >3000mm via manhole.

Support grids
For the support of structured or non-structured packings, different types of SIGRABOND Chemical support grids with a high free flow cross-section of >90% are available. The lightweight grids perform reliably even at operational deviation and high temperatures.

Feed tubes
Our feed tubes are standardized and perfectly fit into our columns made of DIABON® graphite or POLYFLURON® (PTFE-lined carbon steel). SIGRABOND Chemical feed tubes first time combine lightweight design and non-ceramic material properties with an outstanding temperature and corrosion resistance.

Hold down grids
The corrosion- and temperature-resistant SIGRABOND Chemical hold down grids prevent the movement or discharge of the packing. Their design does not disturb the steady distribution of the liquid.

Structured packing
MellaCarbon™, the structured packing of our partner SULZER Chemtech, combines all the advantages of a structured gauze packing with the corrosion resistance of carbon. Its 100% carbon base is corrosion proof against caustic solutions, non-oxidizing inorganic acids, excellent wettable and suitable for high temperature applications.
Static mixers
Static mixers made of SIGRABOND Chemical convince through their light and stiff design compared to other materials. Even with complex geometries and large sizes a homogeneous mixture is achieved by individual adaptation to the process flow.
Demister cages
Various designs of the lightweight and corrosion resistant liquid and aerosol separators can be used in a wide range of applications. The surface roughness of the material favors the wettability of the surface and thus ensures an increased degree of separation with SIGRABOND Chemical demisters
