SGL Carbon celebrates the return of personal encounters and a product anniversary at ACHEMA 2022

At a glance:

  • 50 years of SIGRAFLEX®
  • New, TA-Luft-compliant sealing sheet made of flexible graphite
  • Reliable graphite components for a wide range of applications

Finally "live" again: From August 22 to 26, 2022, the process industry will meet at ACHEMA in Frankfurt am Main. The leading international trade fair will be held under the motto "Inspiring sustainable connections" - and is thus ideally suited to the graphite products that SGL Carbon will be showcasing at its stand in hall 8.0, L81.

50 years of “Unrivalled Sealing”

Because the Wiesbaden-based company has reason to celebrate: In 1972, the first production line for graphite foils went into operation and the brand name SIGRAFLEX® was born. The product line now includes a wide range of high-performance sealing materials made of flexible graphite, from gasket sheets and foils to yarns for braided packages. In addition to the SIGRAFLEX success story, this year the graphite experts are also focusing on a sustainable innovation: a new gasket sheet that meets the requirements of the new TA-Luft (German Clean Air Act) and thus helps to reduce emissions.

Die-molded graphite drives future technologies

A wide variety of mechanical applications also need to be reliably sealed. That's why SGL Carbon will be showcasing its SIGRAFINE® brand products alongside SIGRAFLEX at ACHEMA 2022. SIGRAFINE products support customers in meeting the major challenges of the future - sustainably and in an environmentally compatible manner thanks to long-lasting carbon products. For example, carbon separator valves seal dry-running vacuum technology for smart robotics and automotive solutions. They open up savings opportunities through reduced energy consumption and the elimination of additional lubricants.

In addition, SGL Carbon's food-safe sliding rings and bearings offer reliable sealing and bearing solutions for mechanical engineering, including in critical sectors of domestic and drinking water technology. Durable high-temperature solutions seal even in ambient temperatures of 600 °C, while self-lubricating and resistant materials are ideally suited for dynamic applications with the most aggressive media.

The experts from SGL Carbon are already looking forward to not only presenting these and other reliable and forward-looking solutions from August 22 to 26, but also to talking to all interested parties at the booth in hall 8.0, L81.
