SGL Carbon received a substantial order for a tailor-made set of graphite-based heat exchangers of different types from a big customer in the US back in May 2020. The completely assembled systems will be used by the customer to expand its capacity for the production of phosphoric acid as one of the main raw materials to produce fertilizer for the agricultural sector worldwide. The delivery of the heat exchangers is planned for end of 2020.
The order consists of tailor-made DIABON® shell and tube heat exchangers as well as DIABON® plate heat exchangers, both using graphite as the main material inside. This very efficient and reliable set-up helps to significantly reduce operational costs for the customer and, at the same time, minimize risks when processing demanding corrosive media.
“The heat exchangers have been designed by our experts at SGL Carbon to perfectly fit to the planned new facility of our customer proving our broad engineering competence. Along with the high quality of our materials and our comprehensive services this is of high value for our customers worldwide.”, says Ralph Spuller, Director Product Management at SGL Carbon.
