SIGRAFLEX® Oxidation Resistant Yarns

With its new yarn products SGL Carbon closes the existing market gap in the field of oxidation resistant packing yarns. These high-performing graphite yarns include SIGRAFLEX graphite foil yarns as well as different textile yarns which exhibit these special characteristics.

Broad spectrum for the most diverse requirements

Refinery operators benefit from the use of packings made of high quality and high-purity oxidation resistant yarns from SGL Carbon. They offer a unique combination of tightness and heat dissipation, excellent high-temperature and chemical resistance, as well as reduced contamination of processes due to the high purity of the yarns.

These include e.g. our foil yarns SIGRAFLEX APX2 and Z foil yarn, which are Inconel^® wire overknitted flexible graphite foil yarns suitable for high temperatures, oxidation and corrosive environments.

Our graphitized PAN yarns stand out due to their excellent oxidation resistance. When specially coated, they meet the latest Shell specification MESC SPE 85/204 for graphite just like specific SIGRAFLEX foil yarns.

SIGRAFLEX foil yarns, OXR yarns and purely graphite coated yarns are also PFAS-free.
