Soft felt manufacturing
The base material for the production of carbon and graphite soft felt is felts made of needled cellulose fibers. These are processed into carbon soft felts by thermal treatment at 800-1,000°C. If these felts are treated at even higher temperatures >2,000°C, the carbon fibres increasingly take on a graphite-like structure, the so-called "graphite soft felts", without a real graphite structure being given.
All soft felts can easily be cut with knives and scissors and thus easily adapted to the desired shapes.
