The raw material used in the production of SIGRATHEMR GFG expanded graphite powder is high quality natural graphite flake. Graphite intercalation compounds are produced from the graphite flakes. Their thermal decomposition (expansion) leads to the formation of loose worms of pure graphite, which are compressed into foils without binders or fillers.
The very good conductivity properties of graphite are retained in the expanded graphite as well as the health safety and environmental friendliness. The foil is then ground in the last step to SIGRATHERM GFG powder.

By adding graphite powder as performance filler or additive to plastics, adhesives, sealants, plasters like gypsum or plaster clays, concrete, silicates, or various phase change materials, the thermal conductivity of the compound can be dramatically increased.
