SIGRATHERM graphite powder
SGL Carbon's SIGRATHERM GFG is a highly conductive flexible graphite powder. It is used in a wide variety of applications where thermal or electrical conductivity is essential.
For instance, it is suitable for thermally conductive plastics, adhesives, sealants or inorganic materials. Furthermore, due to the unique properties of graphite, SIGRATHERM GFG can also be used in electric, antistatic as well as mechanical applications.
Benefits and properties
- Dramatic increase of thermal conductivity - even at low filler contents
- Improvement of electrical conductivity
- Electromagnetic shielding
- Low powder density and large specific surface
- Minimum influence on base component
- Good dosability
- Self-lubricating properties
- Environmental friendliness
Raw material natural graphite
The raw material used in the production of SIGRATHERM GFG expanded graphite powder is high quality natural graphite flake.
The very good conductivity properties of graphite are retained in the expanded graphite as well as the health safety and environmental friendliness.

Application-specific suitability of our SIGRATHERM graphite powder
By adding graphite powder as a performance filler or additive to plastics, adhesives, sealants, plasters like gypsum or plaster clays, concrete, silicates, or various phase change materials, the thermal conductivity of the compound can be dramatically increased.
Also, expanded graphite powder is suitable as a conductivity additive for application in batteries and inorganic materials e.g. molds in foundry technology, furnace bricks, plasterboards or fillers for the textile and paper industries to increase heat conductivity. Furthermore, due to the unique properties of graphite, it can be used in electric/antistatic as well as in mechanical applications like energy storage (including hydrogen storage) and lubrication.
