The raw material used in the production of SIGRATHEMR GFG expanded graphite powder is high quality natural graphite flake. Graphite intercalation compounds are produced from the graphite flakes. Their thermal decomposition (expansion) leads to the formation of loose worms of pure graphite, which are compressed into foils without binders or fillers.
The very good conductivity properties of graphite are retained in the expanded graphite as well as the health safety and environmental friendliness. The foil is then ground in the last step to SIGRATHERM GFG powder.
We offer SIGRATHERM GFG graphite powder of different particle sizes and powder densities and will be pleased to advise you in choosing the best powder for your specific application. Just ask us!
By adding graphite powder as performance filler or additive to plastics, adhesives, sealants, plasters like gypsum or plaster clays, concrete, silicates, or various phase change materials, the thermal conductivity of the compound can be dramatically increased.
Also, expanded graphite powder is suitable for application in inorganic materials e.g. molds in foundry technology, furnace bricks, plasterboards or fillers for textile and paper industry to increase heat conductivity. Furthermore, due to the unique properties of graphite, it can be used in electric/antistatic as well as in mechanical applications like energy storage (including hydrogen storage) and lubrication.
